Dan trained his first canine in 1979, earning several regional CDX titles in obedience excellence with his Doberman, Char. Since then, he’s trained numerous dogs over the years in obedience, working service dog and protection.
Until 2019, Dan’s career took other paths with military service in the Navy, Country Music magazine owner, professional photographer and, finally, owner of an event production company. However, his heart remained with his dogs and he kept his hand in training by working with his own canines as well as others over the years.
Then, his heart demanded he slow things down after having triple bypass in the Spring of 2019. Seeking an outlet for his creative energy and combining it with his need for cardiac rehabilitation and rebuilding his stamina, Dan turned to something that he had loved his entire adult life – training dogs.
With experience training his own canines as working service dogs and protection K9s, Dan decided to put that background to use and start training dogs for others. Thus, Georgia K9 Training was born.
Below are some other photos of Dan and his Daisy, outtakes from the photo shoot.
